Description of key information

The test item is considered as non flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

A small amount of the test item, held in a magnesia trough into the flame, showed formation of foam and a yellow flame. The string of the test item burned as long as it was in contact with the flame of the gas burner. No propagation of the combustion took place. After losing contact with the gas flame, the flame died immediately. It was noted that the substance started to melt and emitted smoke.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Being ignited with the flame of a gas burner, the test item started to build foam. Melting and the formation of smoke were observed. Where the test item was in contact with the flame of the gas burner, a yellow flame was visible. No combustion with propagating flame was observed. Upon removal of the flame, melting of the test item stopped and the flame died.

The test item is considered as non flammable.
