Additional information

No valid key study for carcinogenicity is available for 4-methoxybenzaldehyde. In a study, reported in literature with limited documentation, the tumor promoting activity of 4 -methoxybenzaldehyde was evaluated after repeated application (3 treatments per week for one year) on mouse skin following a single initiation with 150 µg 7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (van Duuren 1968).

The authors stated, that no tumour promoting activity of 4 -methoxybenzaldehyde has been observed.
