Justification for classification or non-classification
As TBHP is an organic peroxide, the classification of TBHP is concluded to be:
- under Directive 67/548/EEC criteria, R7
- under UN GHS criteria, classification as an oxidising liquid is not possible as an oxidising test is required to determine this.
- under Regulation 1272/2008 (CLP GHS) criteria, classification as an oxidising liquid is not possible as an oxidising test is required to determine this. However, TBHP is classified as an organic peroxide type F.
