Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The effect of ethyldiisopropylamine on bacteria was determined according to the OECD guideline 209 “Activated Sludge, Respiration Inhibition Test” and GLP requirements (L'Haridon, 2002).The effect was assessed by measuring the micro-organisms respiration rates on a sample of activated sludge during an incubation period of 3 hours. The validity critera were fulfilled. The result based on the inhibition of the respiration rate was:EC50 (3h) of 912 mg/L. The test item toxicity, up to 1000 mg/L, comes from a pH effect (increase in pH).

As a supporting study, the rate of inhibition after 30min of exposure was evaluated in another test according to OECD 209 and GLP requirements (BASF, 1996). Two nominal concentrations were tested: 531 and 984 mg/L. NOEC (30min) of 531 mg/L was determined.
