Additional information

Zinc bis(dibenzyldithiocarbamate) is a white powder with a melting range from 178 -180°C at 101.325 kPa (Analytical laboratory in Termoli, 2005), a relative density of 1.42 at 20 °C (Analytical laboratory in Termoli), a boiling temperature of 330 °C at atmospheric pressure (Currenta GmbH & Co. OHG, 2010a) and a water solubility of 2.30 µg/L at 20 °C (Arkema, 2013). The substance is non-flammable, non-explosive and non-oxidizing. Information on the partitioning coefficient of the substance will be submitted later based on ECHA decision number CCH-D-2114382075-49-01.

In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annexes VII-X and/or Sections 1 or 2 of REACH Annex XI and/or Chapter R.7A of REACH Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, conductance of the studies on surface tension, stability in organic solvents, dissociation constant and viscosity are not warranted.

The following particle size distribution was determined (Currenta GmbH & Co. OHG, 2010c):

0.45% < 4 μm; 13.49% in the range of 4-10 μm; 86.06% in the range 10-100 μm (spherical volume).

0.43% < 4 μm; 11.62% in the range 4-10 μm; 87.95% in the range 10-100 μm (cubical volume).

The median diameter was 18.4 μm.

The vapour pressure was predicted to be 1.01E-5 mmHg (0.00134 Pa) by a calculation method (MPBPVP v1.43).
