The log Pow of tert-dodecanethiol was determined by Weissenfeld (2004). This is a GLP-compliant study following OECD 117. The log Pow of the test item was greater than that of the most lipophilic reference compound at >6.2. As this study cannot be used to provide an accurate value two QSAR methods have been used. The first, a non-validated QSAR EPIWEB provided a result of 6.07 which is below the value found experimentally and therefore not considered accurate. The second was a validated QSAR based on the experimental water solubility value. The log Kow is predicted to be 7.43 and is considered acceptable for use as a key study.
