Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Log Koc < 1.26 (expert statement).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a guideline study applying the HPLC method the adsorption coefficient Koc on soil and on sewage sludge should be determined.

The retention time of the test item was lower than the dead time of the HPLC system determined with NaNO3. Therefore, the log Koc for the test item could not be calculated. However, it can be stated that the log Koc of the test item is less than the log Koc of acetanilide (1.26) which is the one reference item with the lowest measured value.

The partion coefficient of sodium 2-hydroxyethanesulfonate was determined to be log Pow = -4.6 (see phys.-chem. section for further details). This supports the assumption that the substance has a low potential for adsorption. Therefore, no further testing is required.
