Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Perfluoromethyl vinyl ether (PMVE) is a colourless odourless gas with freezing point = -155.15°C (Yaws, Carl L. ©2010 Knovel) and boiling point = -26°C (Yaws, Carl L. ©2010 Knovel).
The relative density was estimated to be 5.733 at 20°C, the estimated Log Kow: 1.42 (KOWWIN v1.67a, EPISUITE v4.00).
The water solubility, evaluated in a closed system and with the atmosphere saturated with the gas, is 31.5 mg/L at 28°C (Oriani et al., 2001).
The auto-ignition temperature of PMVE is 180°C at 1 atm, it is a flammable gas having a flammable range in air in percent by volume of 7% - 70%. (DEKRA 2020).
PMVE is packaged in cylinders at pressure higher than 200 kPa. When packaged under pressure its physical form is liquid  at temperatures above  -50°C therefore it fulfils the definition of  Gas under pressure - Liquefied gas   according to GHS/CLP criteria. Specifically, as its critical temperature is ca 89.95°C (Yaws, Carl L. ©2010 Knovel) it fulfils the definition of Low pressure liquefied gas.
