Additional information

For fish (Danio rerio) a 96 h-LC50 of 62 mg/L was obtained. The GLP study was conducted in a static test according to Directive/ECC (67/548/EEC), Annex V, C.1 “Acute toxicity to fish”, comparable to OECD TG 203 (Bayer AG, 1992a). The stability of the test substance was experimentally determined with GC during the exposure period. The results are related to measured concentrations, although the recovery rates were > 96 %.

Another GLP study, using the same TG, reported a 96 h-LC50 of 12 mg/L (measured) for Oryzias latipes in a semi-static test (EA Japan, 1999a). Although pH was significantly increased (pH 9.0-9.8) with increasing dicyclohexylamine concentration during incubations at concentrations ≥18 mg/L, no pH control assay and no tests with neutralized dicyclohexylamine were performed. Since mortality occurred exclusively within 24 h of incubation and remained unchanged during the time course of the incubations, it cannot be excluded that the elevated pH contributed to mortality (EA Japan, 1999a).
