Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In the key study a 48-h EC50 value of >100 mg/L was established (Morrissey 1979).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Fresh water invertebrates

Fresh water invertebrates
Effect concentration:
100 mg/L

Marine water invertebrates

Marine water invertebrates
Effect concentration:
100 mg/L

Additional information

The results of the key study are confirmed by the other available studies (Yasushi 2004, Bringmann 1982). In addition the test substance appeared to be not toxic when tested in the marine environment (EC50 > 100 mg/L). The species tested were Limnoria and Teredo diegensis. This provides indications that the EC50 for marine organisms is comparable to that for fresh water invertebrates.
