Description of key information

No data available. Considering all relevant information available, toxicity to terrestrial arthropods is not expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No terrestrial studies are available for 2-amino-2-ethyl-1,3-propanediol (AEPD). In the environment, AEPD is expected to partition mainly into the water compartment, due to its high water solubility and low adsorption potential. The substance is rapidly biodegradable, with >90% biodegradation in 7 days under test conditions, and would therefore be rapidly degraded, if present in soil pore water. Furthermore, all data available from aquatic toxicity tests indicate low toxicity. Based on these considerations, terrestrial testing is not proposed for this substance.
