Additional information

Four studies investigating the short-term toxicity of the substance on freshwater fish are available. The key study was conducted under static conditions according to EPA guideline (EPA-660/3-75-009) with the rainbow trout Salmo gairdneri as test organism using acetone as solubiliser (Forbis and Burgess, 1983). In this study the determined LC50 value after 96 hours of exposure was 49 mg/L (nominal). This result is supported by a study conducted under the same test conditions with the bluegill sunfish Lepomis macrochinus as test organism (Forbis, 1983). With a 96h-LC50 value of 120 mg/L (nominal) the bluegill sunfish turned out to be slightly less sensitive than the rainbow trout. Two further studies are not used for the assessment, since only summaries are available and in both studies the oxygen saturation reached a very low state.
