Additional information

Data waiving according to EC 1907/2006 Annex XI (1): The substance has a low potential for adsorption to soil particles (log Koc of 0.68), has no bioaccumulative properties (log Kow of -0.74) and is readily biodegradable. Therefore, binding to sewage sludge is unlikely and as a consequence a transfer to the soil compartment is not expected. Additionally, the lack of any toxic effects on aquatic organisms on all three trophic levels indicate a low hazardous potential of the test substance towards soil organisms. Additionally, data on earthworm acute toxicity are provided and indicate no effects up to the highest test concentration. Ethylene urea caused no short-term or long-term effects (< +/- 25% deviation from the control value) on the nitrogen and the carbon transformation. Therefore, no hazard on terrestrial organisms is expected and no further data are provided.
