Description of key information

Additional information

The ready biodegradability of the test item was assessed over a 28 day period by the Manometric Respirometry Test (OECD 301F). The nominal test concentration was 20 mg a.s./L. The test material attained up to 78 % biodegradation after 28 days whereas the positive control substance (Sodium acetate) reached the pass level after 14 days. These results indicate that the test item is readily biodegradable under conditions of the test.

Based on this information, the substance is expected to be rapidly biodegraded by microorganisms in both aquatic and terrestrial environments and therefore, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex IX, Column 2, 9.2.1.2, 9.2.1.3 and 9.2.1.4, further simulation testing on biodegradation of the substance in water, sediment and soil is not required.
