Description of key information

The self-ignition temperature is above the melting temperature.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A study was conducted to determine the relative self-ignition temperature of the test substance according to EU Method A.16.

An aliquot of the test substance was suspended in a stainless steel mesh cube in an oven. The oven temperature was programmed to increase from ambient to 158°C at a rate of 0.5°C/min. After testing, the cube was empty, liquid was observed on the cube holder base and the oven floor (Tremain, 2012).
