Additional information

The measured data for the read across substance (CASNr: 106-68-3) and for the substance of interest 5-methylheptan-3-one (CASNr: 541-85-5) fall into the range 40-517 mg/L (fish, aquatic invertebrates, algae and protozoon combined). Therefore, the lowest value of 40 mg /L as well as the measured data for microorganisms of 25 mg/L were selected for the safety assessment and the derivation of the PNEC values for 5-methylheptan-3-one (CASNr: 541-85-5).

Since all EC/LC50 values were above 1 mg/l and 5-methylheptan-3-one (CASNr: 541-85-5) is readily biodegradable, no classification is necessary.
