First-aid measures

General advice :

Move out of dangerous area.

Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.

If inhaled :

Move to fresh air.

Keep warm and at rest and provide fresh air.

Give oxygen or artificial respiration if needed.

No mouth-to-mouth respiration.

If symptoms persist, call a physician.

In case of skin contact :

Take off all contaminated clothing immediately.

Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.

If skin irritation persists, call a physician.

In case of eye contact :

Remove contact lenses.

Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes.

Protect unharmed eye.

If symptoms persist, call a physician.

If swallowed:

Do NOT induce vomiting.

Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water.

Do not give milk or alcoholic beverages.

Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

Risks:

Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking.

Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

Treatment:

Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

Suitable extinguishing media :

Water spray

Foam

Dry powder, carbon dioxide, foam.

Unsuitable Extinguishing Media :

Do NOT use water jet.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Specific hazards during fire fighting :

Vapours are heavier than air and may spread along floors.

Flash back possible over considerable distance.

Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.

May cause explosion hazard in drains.

May reignite on surface water.

Incomplete combustion may produce:

Carbon monoxide (CO)

Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Advice for firefighters

Special protective equipment for firefighters:

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.

Further information:

Special protective equipment for fire-fighters :

Cool containers/tanks with water spray.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:

Wear personal protective equipment.

Avoid breathing vapour or mist.

Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas.

Beware of vapours accumulating to form explosive concentrations. Vapours can accumulate in low areas.

Environmental precautions :

Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so.

Prevent spillage from entering drains, sewer, basement or confined areas.

If the product contaminates rivers and lakes or drains inform respective authorities.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Attempt to stop leakage without personal risk.

Non-sparking tools should be used.

Contain spillage, and then collect with non-combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and place in container for disposal according to local / national regulations

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Advice on safe handling:

Ensure adequate ventilation.

Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion:

Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Take measures to prevent the build up of electrostatic charge. Use only explosion-proof equipment.

Hygiene measures:

Wash hands before eating, drinking, or smoking. Wash contaminated clothing before re-use. Easy access to emergency shower and eye wash facility is required.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Requirements for storage areas and containers:

Keep product and empty container away from heat and sources of ignition. Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place.

Suitable materials for containers: Mild steel Stainless steel

Advice on common storage:

Incompatible with strong acids and oxidizing agents.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Engineering measures:

Use ventilation adequate to keep exposures below recommended exposure limits.

Personal protective equipment

Eye protection :

Safety glasses with side-shields

Hand protection

Material : Viton® -  Break through time : > 480 min

Material : Nitrile rubber - Break through time : > 480 min

The selected protective gloves have to satisfy the

specifications of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and the standard

EN 374 derived from it. Please observe the instructions

regarding permeability and breakthrough time which are

provided by the supplier of the gloves. Also take into

consideration the specific local conditions under which the

product is used, such as the danger of cuts, abrasion, and

the contact time.

Skin and body protection :

Wear suitable protective clothing and rubber boots.

Respiratory protection : Respirator with a vapour filter (EN 141) -  Filter type : Type A (A)

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.

Smoking, eating and drinking should be prohibited in the application area.

Stability and reactivity

Chemical stability

Stable under normal conditions.

Possibility of hazardous reactions

No dangerous reaction known under conditions of normal use.

Conditions to avoid

Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.

Vapours are heavier than air and may spread along floors.

Incompatible materials

Oxidizing agents

Acids

Hazardous decomposition products

Under fire conditions:, Carbon monoxide (CO), Carbon dioxide (CO2)

Disposal considerations

Dispose of as hazardous waste in compliance with local and national regulations.

Where possible recycling is preferred to disposal or incineration.

Do not dispose of waste into sewer.

Contaminated packaging :

Empty remaining contents.

Dispose of contents/ container to an approved waste disposal plant.
