Description of key information

The surface tension of N-(n-octyl)-2-pyrrolidinone is 30.8 mN/m

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
30.8
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
1 000

Additional information

Two studies are available from the migrated NONS file provided by ECHA. One states a surface tension of

31.2 mN/m at a concentration of 1230 mg/L and the other states a surface tension of 30.8 mN/m at a concentration of 1000 mg/L.

The figure at a concentration of 1000 mg/L has been undertaken according to OECD guideline 115 and therefore it can be concluded that the surface tension of N-(n-octyl)-2 -pyrrolidinone is 30.8 mN/m.
