Description of key information

According to Annex IX, column 2, the bioaccumulation study need not be conducted if the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation (log Kow <=3). The components of B-TTEGME, i.e. three borated glycol esters, have a low potential for bioaccumulation due to their log Kow is << 3. Furthermore B-TTEGME is readily biodegradable.

B-TTEGME has a low potential for bioaccumulation since the log Kow of its components (three borated glycol esters) is << 3. Furthermore, it hydrolyzes, is readily biodegradable and has a high water solubility. According to Annex IX, column 2, the bioaccumulation study need not be conducted if the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation (log Kow <=3).
