Materials and methods

Test guideline
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Oral intubation of 5 groups consisting of six rats (males) each. Bodyweights of test animals ranged from 148 to 200 grams. the animals were fasted 12 hours prior to dosing. Observations for mortality and signs of effect were made for 7 days and survivors were sacrificed. LD50 was calculated by method of Miller and Tainter.
GLP compliance:
no
Remarks:
Study predates GLP
Test type:
standard acute method
Limit test:
no
