Additional information

Testing for this endpoint has been waived due to the substance's lack of chemical groups associated with oxidising properties. An expert statement (Kreutzer and Bolzonella 2011b) has been provided to support this.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance shall not be classified as an oxidising gas, oxidising liquid or oxidising solid.

  • Oxidising gas: The substance does not meet the definition of an oxidising gas according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008, Annex I, section 2.4 because it is not oxidising.
  • Oxidising liquid: The substance does not meet the definition of an oxidising liquid according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008, Annex I, section 2.13 because it is not oxidising.
  • Oxidising solid: The substance does not meet the definition of an oxidising solid according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008, Annex I, section 2.14 because it is not oxidising and also because of its low freezing point (< -50 °C - see section 4.2) it should not be a solid under expected conditions.
