readily biodegradable

Additional information

There are two key studies available regarding ready and anaerobic biodegradability, respectively. A GLP-test on ready biodegradability was performed according to OECD guideline 301A using non-adapted activated sludge (BASF 1999). After 21 days a DOC removal of 90-100% was measured. Sklyar et al. (1999) performed a non-guideline test to assess the anaerobic biodegradability of thiodiglycol using sludge from the laboratory upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactor. They found a degree of biodegradation of 42% after 185 days related to the COD.
