Water solubility:
>= 167 - <= 179 mg/L
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Temp.:
22 °C
pH:
>= 6 - <= 7
Remarks on result:
other: application of 1000 mg/L
Details on results:
Due to the wide range of various ingredients with different polarities and water solubilities the determined water concentrations are dependent on the applied amount of material. Because there is no specific analytical method for trace determination of the individual components the TOC (total organic carbon) measurement was used for the analysis of the aqueous phase.
Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information): slightly soluble (0.1-100 mg/L)
Water solubility of Coconut oil, reaction products with polyethylene glycol and trimethylolpropane at application of 100 mg/l test substance: 52 +/- 5 mg/L, resp. at application of 1000 mg/L test substance: 173 +/- 6 mg/L at 22 °C.
Executive summary:

The water solubility of Coconut oil, reaction products with polyethylene glycol and trimethylolpropane was determined according to ASTM E 1148 -02. The water solubility was determined to be 52 +/- 5 mg/L at an application of 100 mg test substance/L, resp. 173 +/- 6 mg/L at an application of 1000 mg test substance/L at 22 °C.

Due to the wide range of various ingredients with different polarities and water solubilites the determined water concentrations were dependent on the applied amount of material. Because there is no specific analytical method for trace determination of the individual components the TOC (total organic carbon) measurement was used for the analysis of the aqueous phase.

Description of key information

0.1-173 mg/L slightly soluble (the water solubility is due to the wide range of various ingredients with different polarities difficult to determine), some substance are slightly soluble, some have a better water solubility, therefore it is not possible to determine one value but a range, the different substances have different water solublities

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
52 mg/L
at the temperature of:
22 °C
