Justification:

In the EU Method C.4 -C (Determination of the "Ready Biodegradability" - Carbon Dioxide Evolution test) 79 % biodegradability was determined for Coconut oil, reaction product with poylethylene glycol and trimethylolpropane after 28 days and the substance reached the 10d-window. It is concluded that the test item is "readily biodegradable".

The BCF and BAF of all main components are very low, the BCF are between 3.162 and 122.5 L/kg ww regression-based method using the program BCFBAF v. 3.01 (Part of EPA EPI SUITE v 4.00). In addition the BAF and BCF (upper trophic) are between 0.8933 and 33.94 calculated using the method of Arnot-Gobas. The log BCF/BAF values indicate a low potential of the test item Coconut Oil, reaction products with polyethylene glycol and trimethylolpropane for bioaccumulation in aquatic organism.

Coconut oil, reaction product with polyethylene glycol and trimethylolpropane is regarded as harmnful to algae and Daphnia and as practically non-toxic to fish. An OECD 211 -study was performed to assess the chronic toxicity of Coconut oil, reaction products with polyethylene glycol and trimethylolpropan to Daphnia magna. The 21 -Day EL50 (reproduction) based on nominal loading rates was 12 mg/L loading rate WAF. The

"No Observed Effect Loading Rate" (NOEL) based on nominal loading rates was 3.2 mg/L loading rate WAF respectively. Therefore the substance is also non-toxic to Daphnia magna.
