Description of key information

Three studies were evaluated. The water solubility of the multi-constituent was determined with the column elution method as modified by use of a generator column apparatus. The water solubility based on the primary component (C4), in water at 20 °C, was determined to be respectively 122 μg/l and 109 μg/l for 3 G FF and 3.5 G FF. The key value was calculated by taking the average of the water solubility of 3 G FF and 3.5 G FF.

Three studies, two with 3 G FF and one with 3.5 G FF as test substance, were evaluated for the endpoint water solubility (Van Hoven and Nixon 2012 (K1); Van Hoven et al. 2012 (K2) and Schutt et al. 2012 (K1)).

 

Two studies were conducted with 3 G FF as test substance (Van Hoven and Nixon 2012; Van Hoven et al. 2012). Both studies used the column elution method as modified by use of a generator column apparatus. The studies differed in the applied detection method. In the study of Van Hoven and Nixon (2012) the concentration of 3 G FF was determined using an LC/MS/MS coupled with an HPLC while the study of Van Hoven et al. (2012) used HPLC/UV analysis.

The mean measured water solubilities of 3 G FF based on the components TPP, C4, C8 and C12 are presented in the table below. The water solubility of 3 G FF, based on the primary component (C4), in water at 20 °C, was determined to be respectively 121±18μg/l and 123±4.7μg/l in the studies of Van Hoven and Nixon (2012) and Van Hoven et al. (2012).

 

One study was conducted with 3.5 G FF as test substance (Schutt et al. 2012). The test used the column elution method as modified by use of a generator column apparatus.

The mean measured water solubilities of 3 G FF based on components TPP, C4, C8 and C12 are presented in the table below. The water solubility of 3.5 G FF, based on the primary component (C4), in water at 20°C using the column elution method was determined to be 109±14μg/l.
