Description of key information

The 48 hour LC50 for the marine crustacean Acartia tonsa was calculated as > 2000 mg/L based on nominal Water Accommodated Fractions (WAFs) concentrations.  There was no evidence of a dose response.

Additional information

The acute toxicity of the test substance, organolignite, to the marine crustacean, Acartia tonsa, was determined using test method, ISO 14669: 1999 (E). Animals were exposed in static conditions for 48 hours to nominal water accommodated fractions (WAFs) containing concentrations of the test substance of 200.0, 355.7, 632.5, 1124.7, and 2000.0 mg/L.  After 48 hours, the LC50 was determined to be > 2000.0 mg/L.
