Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In accordance with REACH Annex XI, Section 2, testing of the transformation of organolignite in aquatic sediment systems is technically infeasible and therefore this testing is waived.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In accordance with REACH Annex XI, Section 2, testing of the transformation of organolignite in aquatic sediment systems is technically infeasible and therefore this testing is waived. Organolignite is a UVCB consisting of multiple components with different physical/chemical (e.g., water solubility) and environmental fate properties. Organolignite cannot be dissolved into a homogenous solution, and radiolabeling of organolignite is technically infeasible. In addition, the use of Total Organic Carbon (TOC) as an analytical method for organolignite lacks sufficient specificity, making analytical identification and quantification not technically possible. Experimental data for biodegradation in water is available. Simulation testing for biodegradation in water/sediment systems is waived, however, based on the reasons discussed.
