Current assessment

In the assessment a 96-h LC50 value of 0.23 mg/L in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss tested as Salmo gairdneri) is used from a static GLP-compliant, EPA-660/3-75-009 guideline study without analytical monitoring (Analytical Bio-Chemistry Laboratories, Inc., 1983a).

In the assessment a 48-h EC50 value of 0.24 mg/L in Daphnia magna from a semi-static OECD 202 guideline study without analytical monitoring is used (van Leeuwen et al., 1985b).

In the assessment a 72-h ErC50 value of 47.5 µg/L and a 72-h ErC10 value of 47.4 µg/L for aquatic algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) are used from a GLP-compliant algal growth inhibition study according to OECD TG 201 conducted with zinc diethyldithiocarbamate (Arkema, 2017).

One long-term toxicity study with Daphnia magna is available for zinc diethyldithiocarbamate. The test is a semi-static non-GLP, non-guideline study with Daphnia without analytical monitoring (van Leeuwen et al., 1985c. The 21-d NOEC value is 3.2 µg/L and is used in the assessment.

The available long-term toxicity study to fish (Akzo Nobel Research Laboratories, 1991) was considered not reliable and was not used in the assessment. The endpoint has been waived.
