Justification for classification or non-classification

In accordance with Section 1.2 of REACH Annex XI, there is sufficient weight of evidence from several independent sources of information leading to the conclusion that Reaction mass of potassium ethyl octylphosphonate and diethyl octylphosphonate does not exert carcinogenic effects and thus does not have to be classified, because it has no genotoxic properties and additionally, a repeated dose oral toxicity studiy in rats with the substance did not reveal any neoplastic observations.

It can therefore be concluded with sufficient certainty that Reaction mass of potassium ethyl octylphosphonate and diethyl octylphosphonate will not cause carcinogenic effects and that testing is not scientifically necessary.
