Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
water solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
From 26 September 2011 to 27 January 2012
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: EU method A.6. No GLP study.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.6 (Water Solubility)
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
flask method
Water solubility:
0.117 - 0.305 g/L
Temp.:
20 °C
pH:
6.45 - 7.25
Details on results:
Throughout the experimental procedure, the substance behaves as follows:
- The substance is soluble at concentrations above 288,9 g/l. The turbidity at this concentration is approximately 10 NTU.
- At concentrations below 288,9 g/l a turbid dispersion/microemulsion is formed. With this behaviour the substance cannot be considered soluble below this concentration.

It is not possible to conclude that saturation is reached by increasing the substance concentration in the solution, as would correspond to the definition of the solubility.

However, as mentioned in the “Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment. Chapter R.7a: Endpoint specific guidance. May 2008. R.7.1.7 Water Solubility”, an arbitrary figure of 10 NTU (Nephelometric Turbidity Units) is selected as a figure above which the solution is deemed to be visibly cloudy.
Conclusions:
Interpretation of results (migrated information): moderately soluble (100-1000 mg/L)
At the concentration of 0,211 g/l (± 0,094), the substance is considered soluble in water at 20,0 ºC (± 0,5).
Executive summary:

The water solubility was tested as per the method given in Council Regulation (EC) Nº 440/2008 of 30 may 2008. Method A.6 “Water Solubility. Flask Method”.

According to this, at the concentration of 0,211 g/l (± 0,094), the substance is considered soluble in water at 20,0 ºC (± 0,5).
