Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

The melting point of the test substance is 31°C at atm. pressure.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
31 °C

Additional information

A literature review was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the literature values were evaluated.

REAXYS reports the melting point of 1-(vinyloxy)octadecane to be 31 °C at atm. pressure. The Syracuse Research Coperation, Physical Properties Database reports the melting point of 1-(vinyloxy)octadecane to be 30 °C at atm. pressure.

The Yaws' Handbook of Physical Properties for Hydrocarbons and Chemicals database reports the melting point of 1 -(vinyloxyoctadecane to be also 30 °C at atm. pressure.

Three independent literature sources report the melting point to be in the same range. Thus, the melting point of 31 °C at atm. pressure from REAXYS which is a peer reviewed data base was chosen as key value.
