In accordance with column 2 of REACh Annex VII, the study does not need to be conducted for solids, if the substance has a melting point ≤ 160 °C, or if preliminary results exclude self-heating of the substance up to 400 °C.
Based on the melting point of ca 80°C (refer to IUCLID section 4.2), and the absence of exothermal reaction up to 400°C observed with DSC (refer to 4.14), testing for self-ignition can be waived. Moreover, considering the ignition failure in the flammability test, in the presence of a flame (under 4.13), self-ignition seems unlikely for the substance. Therefore no additional information is required.
