Description of key information

There are no long-term fish toxicity studies for the reaction product Marlon ARL. Assessment reports for the two read across substances that comprise the substance being registered (the reaction product Marlon ARL) indicate that these read across substances (i.e., LAS and hydrotropes) do not pose a risk to the aquatic environment for all relevant uses. In Annex IX of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, it is laid down that chronic toxicity tests shall be proposed by the registrant if the chemical safety assessment indicates the need to investigate further the effects on fish. Therefore, and for reasons of animal welfare, a long-term toxicity study in fish is not recommended.
