Additional information

Skin and eye irritation /corrosion

A study for irritant / corrosive potential on the rabbit's skin and eye was conducted with 'Reaction mass of benzyl 2-ethylhexyl adipate and bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate and dibenzyl adipate' in accordance with the OECD Guideline for testing of chemicals No. 404 and 405. Based on the obtained results 'Reaction mass of benzyl 2-ethylhexyl adipate and bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate and dibenzyl adipate' can be regarded as not irritating to the skin and not irritating to the eye.

Overall, the studies are GLP compliant and of high quality (Klimisch score = 1). Therefore, there is no reason to believe that the above described results would not be applicable to humans.

Justification for selection of skin irritation / corrosion endpoint:
This is the only available study: guideline study and GLP with Klimisch score 1.

Justification for selection of eye irritation endpoint:
This is the only available study: guideline study and GLP with Klimisch score 1.

Justification for classification or non-classification

'Reaction mass of benzyl 2-ethylhexyl adipate and bis(2-ethylhexyl) adipate and dibenzyl adipate' causes no irritating effects on the skin of rabbits nor on the eye of rabbits.

According to CLP classification criteria (Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008) a classification is therefore not justified.
