study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid which decomposes before boiling

Description of key information

In accordance with column 2 of REACH Annex VII, the test on the boiling point (required in section 7.3) was waived, as no boiling of Urea 4 during the determination of the melting point / melting range of Urea 4 (see section 4.2) was observed. The results obtained indicate without doubt that Urea 4 starts to decompose or react at temperatures > 280 °C. In conclusion, no boiling point of Urea 4 was observed up to a degradation or reaction temperature of about 280 °C. Therefore, no separate experimental determination of the boiling point/boiling range had to be performed according to the guidelines in force.
