Description of key information

Under standard conditions, slags are solid.
At temperatures of > 1000 °C viscosity may decrease
ABS at 1600 °C: 250 mPa s (dynamic)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Ferrous slags resemble natural stones and are solid at ambient temperatures. Data for molten ferrous slags are not relevant at ambient temperatures.

Typical slags tested at 1100 to 1400 °C had a viscosity of 150 - 1500 cP (Krajewski and Krueger 1984).
