Description of key information

The density of C14-17 chlorinated paraffins increases with increasing degree of chlorination, varying from 1.095 g/cm3 at 20oC for a material with 41% chlorination to 1.38 g/cm3 at 25oC  for a material with 58% chlorination.

The relative density of C14 -17 chlorinated paraffins has been reported to vary with degree of chlorination and temperature at which the determination was made. Individual values (in g/cm3) were reported as 1.095 at 20oC (41% chlorination); 1.1 at 25oC (40% chlorination); 1.16 at 25oC (45% chlorination); 1.25 at 25oC (52% chlorination); 1.315 at 20oC (56% chlorination); 1.36 at 25oC (58% chlorination) and ranges of values quoted are 1.1-1.38 at 25oC (40-58% chlorination) and 1.275-1.305 at 60oC (56% chlorination).
