The substance has no explosive properties because it is not classified as Organic Peroxide Type B (reference CLP regulations 2.15.2.2 and UN Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, 16th revised edition, Section 2.5.3.2.4. See also ECHA guidance on the application of the CLP criteria, section 2.14. The classification of organic peroxides into one of the seven categories of “Types A to G” is given in decision logic Figure 2.15.1 of CLP, based on the test series A to H, as described in the Part II of the UN-MTC. See endpoint 4.13 Flammability. Tert-butyl cumyl peroxide is classified as Organic Peroxide Type E.
