Description of first aid measures

First-aid measures general : Call a poison center or a doctor if you feel unwell.

First-aid measures after inhalation : Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. Call a poison center or a doctor if you feel unwell.

First-aid measures after skin contact : Wash skin with plenty of water. Take off contaminated clothing. If skin irritation occurs: Get medical advice/attention.

First-aid measures after eye contact : Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Call a physician immediately.

First-aid measures after ingestion : Call a poison center or a doctor if you feel unwell.

Symptoms/effects after inhalation : May cause respiratory irritation.

Symptoms/effects after skin contact : Irritation.

Symptoms/effects after eye contact : Serious damage to eyes.

Methods for cleaning up : Shovel or sweep up and put in a closed container for disposal. Collect and evacuate without creating dust.

Other information : Dispose of materials or solid residues at an authorized site.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling : Avoid formation of dust and aerosols. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear personal protective equipment. Provide adequate ventilation where dust is formed.

Hygiene measures : Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Always wash hands after handling the product.

Storage conditions : Store locked up. Store in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed. Keep cool. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking.

This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediate. Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management system is available at each site. Written confirmation of application of Strictly Controlled Conditions has been received from every Downstream user of the intermediate.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls: Ensure good ventilation of the work station.

Hand protection: Manipulate with gloves. Gloves have to be controlled before the use. Use a technique of withdrawal of gloves suited to avoid that the skin contacts the product (i.e. without touching the outside surface of the glove). Throw gloves contaminated after the use according to the current laws and to the good practices of laboratory. Wash and dry hands. The selected gloves have to satisfy the specifications of the EU Directive 89 / 686 / EEC and in the standard IN 374 which derives from it.

Eye protection: Safety glasses

Skin and body protection: Wear suitable protective clothing

Respiratory protection: When the risk assessment shows that the use of respirators is appropriate, use a full face mask with cartridge type N100 (U.S.) or type P3 (EN 143). Use of equipment and components tested and approved by NIOSH and CEN (EU).

Environmental exposure controls: Avoid release to the environment.
