Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

Based on the available information it can be concluded that neither BPA-DA nor BPA-TA or any other degradation products can be considered as PBT or vPvB substances.

The combination of experimental data and data available from (Q)SAR modelling lead to the conclusion that neither BPA-DA nor BPA-TA fulfil the P(vP)-screening criterion. For the B-criterion it was concluded in a weight of evidence approach, taking into account (Q)SAR estimates and physico-chemical data, that the substance has a low bioaccumulation potential and therefore does not fulfil the B-criterion. It was also concluded based on the available experimental and estimated data on aquatic toxicity that the T-screening criterion is not met. The assessment has considered the main predicted degradation products, the results of which do not change the conclusion of BPA-DA or BPA-TA.

A detailed assessment is presented in the CSR (chapter 8).
