Executive summary:

Data available for the structurally and functionally similar read across chemicals has been reviewed to determine the toxic effect of the test chemical on micro-organisms.The studies are as mentioned below:

Toxicity to activated sludge study was carried out. The study was performed according to EC Guideline 88/302/EC. Inoculum conc. used for the study was 1527 mg/l. On the basis of the effect of test chemical on respiration of the test organism activated sludge, the EC50 value was determined to be 140 mg/l.

Another toxicity to activated sludge study was carried out for 30 mins. The study was performed in accordance with the OECD Guideline 209 (Activated Sludge, Respiration Inhibition Test. Test chemical concentration was not verified analytically. On the basis of the effect of test chemical on respiration of the test organism activated sludge, the 30 mins EC20 value was determined to be 750 mg/l.

On the basis of the experimental studies of the structurally and functionally similar read across chemical and applying the weight of evidence approach, the EC50 value was determined to be 140 mg/l.
