Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: If symptomatic, move to fresh air.  Get medical attention if

symptoms persist.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Any material that is in the eye should be washed out

immediately with water.  Get medical attention if symptoms

occur.

Emergency measure - Skin: After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of

soap and water.  Get medical attention if symptoms occur.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Use appropiate medium for adjacent fire. Hazchem code  2Z

Fire or excessive heat may produce hazardous decomposition

products.

Product arising from burning: Hazardous decomposition products:  Oxides of nitrogen,

oxides of sulphur.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Hazchem code  2Z.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Collect up and put in a suitable container.  Avoid

generation of dust.  Clean surface thoroughly to remove

residual contamination.

Handling and storage

Handling: Avoid prolonged or repeated breathing of dust.  Avoid

contact with eyes and prolonged or repeated contact with

skin.  Use with adequate ventilation.  Wash thoroughly after

handling. Keep away from heat.  Powdered material may form

explosive dust-air mixtures.  Minimize dust generation and

accumulation. Use only in well ventilated areas.  Keep away

from sources of ignition. Keep from contact with oxidizing

materials.  Exercise caution in heating, especially in a

closed container.

In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable

respiratory equipment.   Respirator type: Dust.

It is a good industrial hygiene practice to minimize eye

contact. Wear safety glasses with side shields

(or goggles).

It is a good industrial hygiene practice to minimize skin

contact.  For operations where prolonged or repeated skin

contact may occur, impervious gloves should

be worn.

Storage: High temperatures (>175 degrees C) will cause decomposition.

Avoid temperatures above 75 degree C.

Cool conditions (5 - 30 degrees C).  Keep container closed.

Keep away from sources of ignition.  Keep from contact with

oxidizing materials.  Exercise caution in heating,

especially in a closed container.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 100 units, in 250-mL Nalgene containers.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: It is not practical to recover or recycle the substance.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: It is not practical to neutralize the substance.

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: A temperature of 1000 degrees C is expected to be sufficient

to destroy the substance.  Combustion will produce oxides

of nitrogen, oxides of sulphur, and hydrogen chloride.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: This substance is not likely to biodegrade.  It is expected

to be very water soluble (Log Kow < 1), and it is likely

that the Log of Henry's Law constant is <1.  Based on these

estimates, the SIMPLETREAT model predicts 0% removal from

water following wastewater treatment.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: None

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: It is not practical to recover or recycle the substance.
