Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If unwell, seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water. Seek medical attention.

Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with soap and water.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Symptomatic treatment. If unwell, seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Recommended extinguishing agents: Water, foam, dry powder

and carbon dioxide may be used.

Product arising from burning: Products arising from pyrolysis: Combustion products may

contain carbon, nitrogen and sulfur oxides together with

hydrogen chloride gas, sodium and nickel compounds and some

soot.

Protective equipment: Protective equipment: Wear a self-contained breathing

apparatus.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear protective clothing (cf 2.3.1). Sweep up spilt

material and place in labelled containers for disposal. For

solutions, absorb on suitable material and collect for

disposal as above. Dispose of waste by incineration or

landfill at controlled sites.

Handling and storage

Handling: Observe the usual precautions for handling organic

chemicals. Avoid contact with eyes and skin, wear safety

glasses and impermeable gloves. If the substance is to be

handled as a powder, avoid inhalation of dust, wear a dust

mask. Use handling equipment or local exhaust ventilation

as appropriate.

Storage: Store in sealed containers. Avoid residues on containers.

Stability and reactivity

Danger other than fire: Other dangers: None reported. [UK c.a.: The substance is a

reactive dyestuff. Substances of this type have been known

to cause respiratory sensitisation. If sensitisation

occurs, remove from exposure and seek medical attention.

Chemical reaction with water: Chemical reaction with water: None reported.

Disposal considerations

Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.

Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: None (French c.a. summary)

Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at a controlled landfill site is possible.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Incineration at a controlled facility equipped with waste

gas treatment to remove nitrogen and sulfur oxides,

hydrogen chloride and metallic compounds.

Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Approximately 60% of the substance will be discharged in

waste water. Waste water may be purified by membrane

filtration or flocculation with cationic agents or

treatments with ozone. Membrane filtration is the most

efficient and 99% of the substance may be removed by this

method.

Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain except as

part of articles.
