Additional information

In a long-term study in compliance with EPA OPP 72-4 the chronic effect of Triclosan on fish was tested. A flow-through system was set up according to the guideline. Fertilised eggs of Oncorhynchus mykiss were exposed to 5 - 80 µg/l Triclosan. The test was terminated after 96 d and the hatching and the survival of juveniles were determined. A NOEC of 34.1 µg/l was reported (Ciba-Geigy 1996, report no. 42726R).

The following table provides an overview on the available reliable data on long-term toxicity to fish.
