Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the experience in production or handling shows that the substance does not react with water, e.g. the substance is manufactured with water or washed with water
Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The substance does not emit flammable gases in contact with water, based on the criteria of REGULATION (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP) as well as the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) of the United Nations.
Endpoint:
flammable solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Endpoint:
pyrophoric liquids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The substance is not a pyrophoric liquid based on the criteria of REGULATION (EC) No. 1272/2008 as well as the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) of the United Nations.
Endpoint:
self-heating substances / mixtures
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The substance is not a self-heating, based on the criteria of REGULATION (EC) No. 1272/2008 (CLP) as well as the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) of the United Nations.

Description of key information

non flammable on ignition

no pyrophoricity

no flammability on contact with water

no self-heating

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

Based on the flash point the substance is not a flammable liquid. Based on the chemical structure and experience in handling and use, pyrophoricity and flammability on contact with water are not expected. Liquids do not show self-heating behaviour if they are not absorbed on a large surface.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The available data on flammability of the test substance do not meet the criteria for classification according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008, and are therefore conclusive but not sufficient for classification:

Based on the flash point (61.1 °C to 69 °C) the substance is not a flammable liquid.

Based on the chemical structure and experience in handling and use, pyrophoricity and flammability on contact with water are not expected.

Liquids do not show self-heating behaviour if they are not absorbed on a large surface.
