The adsorption coefficient for TCPP has been determined to be 576. The determination was carried out using an HPLC screening method according to the EU Method C.19 (Estimation of the Adsorption Coefficient (KOC) on Soil and Sewage Sludge Using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)), (Cuthbert and Mullee, 2002). As it is concluded that the results of the HPLC test method are out of line possibly due to interactions with the stationary phase, the estimated Koc value of 174, derived from a regression equation, obtained from a high standard study, using the structural analogue tris[2 -chloro-1 -(chloromethyl)ethyl] phosphate as test substance, is preferred.

The Henry's Law Constant of 0.00042 Pa m³/mole for the main constituent tris(2 -chloro-1 -methylethyl) phosphate is estimated from the ratio of its vapour pressure to its water solubility at a temperature of 25 °C indicating a low rate of volatilisation from surface water (Currenta, 2009).

The distribution of the main constituent tris(2 -chloro-1 -methylethyl) phosphate in a "unit world" was calculated according to the Mackay fugacity model level I based on the physico-chemical properties. The main target compartment for the substance is water with 92.9 %, followed by soil with 3.52 %, and sediment with 3.55% (Currenta, 2009).
