Additional information

An oversaturated solution of the substance was prepared in order to overcome the relative solubility of the test substance. This was done by adding 1.1g of test substance per 1 mL of water, therefore ensuring that the solution became oversaturated and the resultant test medium was a dispersion of the test substance in water.

Particle size measurements were reported over the range of 0.04 – 2000 µm, using a mixture of sieving and laser diffraction methods.

By sum of mass, 82.1% of particles were > 2000 µm in size, 17.9 % were < 2000 µm, 17.73% were > 100 µm and < 2000 µm, 0.17 % were < 100 µm, 0.04 % were < 10 µm and 0.02 % were < 1 µm. The results for particles of < 2000 µm in size were determined during tests corresponding to CIPAC MT 187 and to the OECD guideline for testing of chemicals No: 110.
