Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Postive for mutagenicity in strain TA 100
Executive summary:

This publication reported the outcome of crotonaldehyde in the AMES bacterial mutagenic assay by two different methods. The Plate incorporation test resulted in negative results in all strains (Salmonella TA 100, TA 98, TA 1538, TA 1537, and TA 1535) tested with and without metabolic activation. Preincubation method of crotonaldehyde resulted in positive mutagenicity in Salmonella test strain TA 100 with and without metabolic activation. All other tested strains were negative. The results indicate that crotonaldehyde is positive in the AMES assay for strain TA 100.
