Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting unless on the advice of medical personnel, in case of vomiting tilt the patient

forward or put it on the side with head facing down to keep the airways open and prevent aspiration.

Don’t give anything by mouth to people who give signs of drowsiness or numbness, or who are about to lose consciousness. Consult a physician if symptoms appear.

Skin contact: Wash with plenty of soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. If symptoms occur, get medical attention. Wash clothing before reuse. Clean shoes before reuse.

Eye contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water, occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Check for and remove any contact lenses. Continue to rinse for at least 10 minutes. Get medical attention if symptoms occur.

Inhalation: Move any exposed person to fresh air at once. Keep warm and at rest. If there is respiratory distress give oxygen. If respiration stops or shows signs of failing, apply artificial respiration. Get medical attention if symptoms occur.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media (small and large fires)

Small Fire: foam, dry powder, CO2

Large Fire: foam, dry powder, CO2, water spray/fog

Do never use straight streams of water

Specific Hazards: Combustion generates toxic fumes.

Fire fighters should use self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing.

As the substance, when exposed to thermal irradiation or directly involved in a fire,

may produce toxic fumes, if it is safe to do, remove the containers from the fire area

or keep containers cool.

Damaged containers must be handled only by authorized trained personnel.

Extinguish flames at a safe distance from the containers, by using fire hoses or

extinguishers automatic systems with nozzles positioned at the top of the containers

Accidental release measures

For non-emergency personnel: No action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without suitable training. Keep unnecessary and unprotected personnel from entering. Do not touch or walk through spilled material. Put on appropriate personal protective equipment.

For emergency responders: If specialised clothing is required to deal with the spillage, take note of any information in Section 8 on suitable and unsuitable materials. See also the information in "For non-emergency personnel".

Environmental precautions: Avoid dispersal of spilled material and runoff and contact with soil, waterways, drains and sewers.

Use procedural and/or control technologies to minimise emissions and the resulting exposure during purification or cleaning and maintenance procedures.

For containment: Small spill : Move containers from spill area. If necessary absorb spill with inert material, then place without creating dust with shovel in a designated, labeled waste container. Dispose of via a licensed waste disposal contractor.

Large spill : Move containers from spill area. Prevent entry into sewers, water courses, basements or confined areas. If necessary absorb spill with inert material, then place without creating dust with shovel in a designated, labeled waste container. Dispose of via a licensed waste disposal contractor.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Select the suitable protective equipment based on the activity and possible exposure in accordance with the relevant technical UNI/EN standards.

The substance is rigorously contained by technical means during its whole lifecycle. Procedural and control technologies shall be used that minimise emission and any resulting exposure. Only properly trained and authorised personnel handle the substance.

Stability and reactivity

The product is stable under normal storage and usage conditions

Conditions to Avoid: Elevated temperatures,  electrostatic discharge, strong oxidizing agents.

Incompatible materials: Strong oxidising and reducing agents; strong alkalis and acids; peroxides

Hazardous decomposition products: Carbon oxides (CO; CO2), dense black smoke

Disposal considerations

Dispose according to official regulations.
