Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

After inhalation: Provide fresh air. In case of breathing difficulties administer oxygen.

After contact with skin: Wash with plenty of water. Take off contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse.

After contact with eyes: After contact with the eyes, rinse with water with the eyelids open for a sufficient length of time, then consult an ophthalmologist immediately.

After ingestion: Rinse mouth immediately and drink plenty of water. Call a physician immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Co-ordinate fire-fighting measures to the fire surroundings. Water spray. Carbon dioxide. Dry extinguishing powder.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: Non-flammable. In case of fire may be liberated: Carbon monoxide Carbon dioxide (CO2). Hydrogen bromide (HBr)

Advice for firefighters: In case of fire: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

Additional information: Suppress gases/vapours/mists with water spray jet. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. Do not allow entering drains or surface water.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:Provide adequate ventilation. Avoid dust formation. Do not breathe dust. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes. Use personal protection equipment.

Environmental precautions: Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Take up mechanically. Treat the recovered material as prescribed in the section on waste disposal. Avoid generation of dust. Clear contaminated areas thoroughly.

Handling and storage

Handling

The substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH regulation Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediates.

Specifically the substance is rigorously contained by technical means during its whole lifecycle; procedural and control technologies are used to minimise emissions and any resulting exposures; only properly trained and authorised personnel handle the substance; special procedures such as purging and washing are applied during cleaning and maintenance works, in cases of accident and where waste is generated, procedural and/or control technologies are used to minimise emissions and the resulting exposures; and substance-handling procedures are well documented and strictly supervised by the site operator.

Advice on safe handling: Do not breathe gas/fumes/vapour/spray. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If handled uncovered, arrangements with local exhaust ventilation have to be used.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Provide earthing of containers, equipment, pumps and ventilation facilities.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Keep container dry. Keep container tightly closed. Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Protective and hygiene measures:Remove contaminated, saturated clothing immediately. Draw up and observe skin protection programme. Wash hands and face before breaks and after work and take a shower if necessary. When using do not eat or drink.

Respiratory protection: In case of inadequate ventilation wear respiratory protection.

Hand protection: When handling with chemical substances, protective gloves must be worn with the CE-label including the four control digits. The quality of the protective gloves resistant to chemicals must be chosen as a function of the specific working place concentration and quantity of hazardous substances. For special purposes, it is recommended to check the resistance to chemicals of the protective gloves mentioned above together with the supplier of these gloves. Hand protection: Single-use gloves.

Use gloves only once.

Eye protection: Suitable eye protection: goggles. Eye protection: Framed glasses.

Skin protection: Wear suitable protective clothing.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: no data available

Stability: no data available

Incompatible materials: Oxidizing agents, strong

Disposal considerations

Advice on disposal: Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Do not allow to enter into soil/subsoil. Dispose of waste according to applicable legislation.

Contaminated packaging: Non-contaminated packages may be recycled. Handle contaminated packages in the same way as the substance itself.
